Getting started

Take the card of the vehicle

Place the key card near the circle on the driver’s door pillar to lock/unlock while outside the car.

The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors

Place the key card on the console (behind or in the cup holders)

There is no start button, just press the brake and shift the car into gear

The gear selector stalk is located behind the right-hand side of the steering wheel. Push the stalk up for reverse and down for drive. For park, press the button on the end of the gear stalk.

The moment you press the accelerator you’ll notice full torque is available. You’ll also spot that when you need to slow or stop the Tesla’s brakes automatically apply when your foot is removed from the accelerator. If you’d prefer to switch to more traditional braking select the car icon on the touchscreen and press: Quick Controls > Driving > Creep or Roll.

Drive the electric vehicle as you would a traditional car, utilizing the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop.

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your feet on the brake and shift the vehicle into 'Park' or 'P' mode using the button on the gearbox

Leave the vehicle and ensure all doors are properly closed
Step 3
The car automatically turns off when you exit the vehicle, remove the key card and close all doors. If you don’t remove the key card, the car will remain accessible and drivable.
Step 1
The charge port is located on the left side of the Model 3, behind a door that’s part of the rear tail-light assembly. To open the charge port cover, use the touchscreen or push once on the cover whilst the car is unlocked.
Step 2
To charge, insert the connector into the charge port. Once successfully plugged in, the charge port LED indicator light will flash green to indicate that charging has begun.
Step 3
When charging is complete, simply disconnect the charge cable, or select Stop Charging on the touchscreen. The charge port cover will automatically close when the connector is removed.
