Unlike some EVs that are based on existing internal combustion engine platforms, the Kia EV6 is built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform known as the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). This platform is specifically designed to accommodate electric powertrains, maximizing interior space, optimizing weight distribution, and enhancing overall performance.

Getting started

Take the key of the vehicle

Step 2

Push the engraved part of the handle to unlock the vehicle and the handle will slide out. The vehicle will flash twice to indicate it is unlocked.

Step 3

The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors

Step 1

Press the brake pedal and the Power button at the same time. Power button is located on the center console in front of the gear switch.

As it's an electric vehicle don't be surprised by the absence of noise

Press the brake pedal and turn the shift dial located in the center console into drive / D to start driving.

Press the brake pedal and select drive / D with the gearbox

Remove your feet from the braking pedal, the vehicle will slowly start to advance still making no motor noise as it's an electric vehicle

Drive the electric vehicle as you would a traditional car, utilizing the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop.

Step 1

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your feet on the brake and shift the vehicle into 'Park' or 'P' mode using the gearbox. turn off the vehicle by pressing the power button

Leave the vehicle and ensure all doors are properly closed

Step 3

Take the keys with you outside the vehicle and press the engraved part of the handle to lock the Kia EV6. The Kia EV6 will flash twice to indicate the vehicle is locked.

Step 1

The charge port is located in the back right of the Kia EV6 right under the tail light. To access the charging port you press the charging port door in the left side of the panel - the door will open to reveal the waterproof plug cover. Remove the plug cover to reveal the combined charging port.

Step 2

To charge, insert the connector into the charge port. Once successfully plugged in, the charge port LED indicator light will flash to indicate that charging has begun.

Step 3

Unplug & Go When charging is complete, unlock the vehicle, gently pull and remove the connector and return it to its dock. You can stop charging at any time by disconnecting the charge cable.
