Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Take the key of the vehicle

Push the button with the sign of the padlock unlocked when you're close to the car

The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors

Step 1

Press the brake pedal and the Power button at the same time. Power button is located on the center console to the right of the gear switch.

As it's an electric vehicle don't be surprised by the absence of noise

Press the brake pedal and select drive / D with the gearbox to start driving. The gearbox is on the left of the driver seat.

Remove your feet from the braking pedal, the vehicle will slowly start to advance still making no motor noise as it's an electric vehicle

Step 3

Drive the electric vehicle as you would a traditional car, utilizing the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop.

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your feet on the brake and shift the vehicle into 'Park' or 'P' mode using the gearbox. turn off the vehicle by pressing the power button

Leave the vehicle and ensure all doors are properly closed

Push the button with a BMW logo to lock the vehicle.

Step 1

The charging port is located on the right rear side of the BMW I4. Ensure the vehicle is unlocked and open the charging port door with a press at the left side of the charge port door and release. The door will open and reveal another cover of the port, press the grey buttons to access the combined charging port.

Step 2

To start charging, insert the connector into the charge port and there will be a green LED light indicating that the BMW I4 is charging. You can lock the vehicle using the key and the chcarging cable will be locked in the connector.

Step 3

Unplug & Go When charging is complete, unlock the vehicle, gently pull and remove the connector and return it to its dock. You can stop charging at any time by disconnecting the charge cable.
