Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Take the key of the vehicle

Grap the door handle with your hand and the Curpa Born will flash twice with the indicator lights to indicate that the vehicle is unlocked. Keyless entry and start is standard on this model.

Step 3

The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors

Step 1

The Cupra Born does not have a button to turn on and off the vehicle. To start the Cupra Born you just get in the driver seat and keep the key inside the car and then press the brake with your foot.

Step 2

As it's an electric vehicle don't be surprised by the absence of noise

The gear selector stalk is located behind the right-hand side of the steering wheel. Turn the gear selector forward for drive and backward for reverse. For park and turn off the Cupra Born, press the button on the end of the gear selector.

Press the brake pedal and select drive / D with the gearbox

Remove your feet from the braking pedal, the vehicle will slowly start to advance still making no motor noise as it's an electric vehicle

Drive the electric vehicle as you would a traditional car, utilizing the accelerator pedal to accelerate and the brake pedal to decelerate or stop.

Step 1

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your feet on the brake and shift the vehicle into 'Park' or 'P' mode using the gearbox. The vehicle will turn off automatically when you exit the vehicle.

Leave the vehicle and ensure all doors are properly closed

To lock the Cupra Born touch the outside surface of the outside of the door handles and the vehicle indicator lights will flash once.

Step 1

The charging port is located on the right rear side of the Cupra Born. To open the charge port cover, ensure the vehicle is unlocked, press the charging port door in the left upper corner and release – the door will open to reveal the waterproof plug cover. Remove the plug cover to reveal the combined charging port.

Step 1

To start charging, insert the connector into the charge port and there should be a flashing green LED light indicating that the Cupra Born is charging. You can lock the vehicle using the key and the chcarging cable will be locked in the connector.

Step 3

Unplug & Go When charging is complete, unlock the vehicle, gently pull and remove the connector and return it to its dock. You can stop charging at any time by disconnecting the charge cable.
